Publisher's Summary

The secrets of creative thinking by a lecturer at the world-famous St. Martin's College of Art who has spent a lifetime researching innovative thinkers.

A scuba-diving company faces bankruptcy because sharks have infested the area. Solution? Open the world's first extreme diving school.

The Art of Creative Thinking reveals how we can transform ourselves, our businesses, and our society through a deeper understanding of human creativity. Rod Judkins, of the world-famous St. Martin's College of Art, has studied successful creative thinkers from every walk of life throughout history. Drawing on an extraordinary range of reference points - from the Dada manifesto to Nobel Prize-winning economists, from Andy Warhol's studio to Einstein's desk - he distills a lifetime's expertise into a succinct, surprising book that will inspire you to think more confidently and creatively.

You'll realise why you should be happy when your train is cancelled; meet the most successful class in educational history (in which every single student won a Nobel prize); discover why graphic nudity during public speaking can be both a hindrance and surprisingly persuasive; and learn why, in the 21st century, it's technically illegal to be as good as Michelangelo.

Be stubborn about compromise. Plan to have more accidents. Be mature enough to be childish. Contradict yourself more often. Discover the art of creative thinking.

surprisingly useful

It's not one of those airy fairy pie in the sky creative talks. Firstly, the chapters are 5 mins long- short, sweet and entertaining. Each chapter points out something to think about and then encourages you to follow that inspiration in a non- linear way. ultimately this book challenges you to be observant and critical of your positive and negative habits, ane how to use them to better your situation. I cannot recommend this enough. .

Dark secrets revealed

I was searching for a book on art history, not having had any art education myself, and I stumbled on this book....
This is a creative history of some of the most creative people and an encouragement to dare to be creative by following what they have done to be so creative.

A good help to develop your creativity

A very good summary of the different technics and patterns is used by creative people through the time. The voice of the narrator is dynamic and makes it to follow. The charters are short and just contain the necessary information.
Very good reference book. Listen, get inspired and start creating.

"Work is the most common form of procrastination." Couldn't stop smiling, seems so true from the creativity angle. Awesome book. Must read or should I say must listen.
