About this listen
In 24 lectures brimming with practical tips, tools, and techniques everyone can use to better manage conflict in his or her professional and personal lives, gain the essential skills of conflict management. As presented by Professor Dues, these lectures will show you how to effectively deal with conflicts of all kinds, using the "win-win" model that has dominated the field for the past six decades.
You'll gain effective techniques for handling conflicts in your workplace, other organizational settings, or your personal life, whether you're dealing with supervisors, coworkers, acquaintances, close friends, or family members. You'll learn the best ways to analyze conflicts and work through the steps toward resolving them, including clarifying goals, handling difficult emotions, and negotiating agreements. And you'll grasp the fundamental tricks of the trade that experienced negotiators have long used to deal with even the most seemingly intractable moral and cultural conflicts.
While drawing on the latest groundbreaking research, Professor Dues has designed these lectures to be as practical as possible. Requiring no background in conflict management, negotiation, or psychology, they offer you not just knowledge, but strategies and tactics you can put to work in your own life right now. Best of all, you'll be able to see those strategies and tactics in action through 70 professionally acted dramatizations that illustrate different conflict situations at home and in the workplace.
You don't have a choice about becoming involved in conflict. You do, however, have a choice about learning to manage it successfully by using the invaluable tools these lectures can give you.

Excellent resource
Loved the treatment of the subject. Excellent guidelines for practicing conflict management. I have started applying the principles, and have been able to realise results already. Take baby steps and internalise the stuff, and more power to you

Great Lecturer, Easy Listen
This is the first time I have tried an educational book. I chose this one purely to help with life skills and communication with my work mates. I was surprised at how easy this was to listen to, the lecturer really held my attention throughout. Each lecture has an acted dramatization, and the characters progressed as the key points in the lectures where applied to their conflict. This made it easy to hold my attention, as (like any good book) I wanted to know how the stories ended. I will definitely listen to this again, and can already think of situations in my own life where I can apply this information. Also, this book comes with a 100+ page PDF file with lecture notes. Happy listener :)

Needs more examples
Was very general in most sections. The examples provided were good but in low quantity so it was a bit difficult to know how to apply the some strategies.

Good content
I found the content was important, could have been narrated a little differently perhaps to make it more engaging, however a good book for insight.

Great info, but perhaps too ambitious
This has useful information re conflict management, as well as great practical tools that can be implemented. However, the series is long & could perhaps have benefited from some editing - the personal conflict lectures, for example, stray into platitudes. The history of conflict management also probably does not need to be there. But there are very useful insights and tips for practitioners in the area.
