About this listen
You could say it all started with the red-eyed tramp with the slimy fingers who put the wind up Neville, the part-time barman, something rotten. Or when Archroy's wife swapped his trusty Morris Minor for five magic beans while he was out at the rubber factory.
On the other hand, you could say it all started a lot earlier. Like 450 years ago, when Borgias walked the earth.
Pooley and Ornally, stars of the Brentford Labour Exchange and the Flying Swan, want nothing to do with it, especially if there's a Yankee and a pint of Large in the offing. Pope Alexander VI, last of the Borgias, has other ideas.

Still as good as the first time.
It's been decades since I last read the AntiPope. It did lead me on into the rest of the Rankin Universe and hearing it narrated by the author himself has made it even better. Getting to hear out loud the story and voices that Rankin imagined himself was such an excellant experience that I will be continuing through the narrated works just as i did the paperbacks. As for my reaction to the dtory itself . Well I often found myself rewinding due to the outloud laughter that drowned out the next part of the story . This is still as laugh out loud funny as it was in the early nineties and has aged like a fine allotment potato gin. If you liked the books you will love the narrated versions. Cheers. Lee.
