In the genre

Dated to a time I recall. But it had a blunt style that is honest in a time where we spend so much time being inoffensive as opposed to telling a story, even if it had elements we dislike. Aren’t we able to see that for ourselves? Didn’t Shakespeare challenge us likewise? Isn’t that the point?
Worth going back over the canon and having some enjoyment listening to a story as opposed to a sermon from whatever mount you subscribe to…
I like the simple language, descriptive action sequences and the lack of a need to explain every foible, morally evaluate it, ensure no fault, and sanitise every element of the story so none are “offended”. Look this is fiction, a story, if you don’t like it then don’t listen or read…. No problems.

Also…. Just remember how awful the fashions of the time were… hideous hair styles, ridiculous lapels, abominations of colour and OTT makeup… both male and female…

So, just listen and enjoy, or not. It’s fun
