About this listen
A New York Times best seller!
It's never a good day when an ancient demon shows up on your toilet bowl. For Lizzie Brown that's just the beginning. Soon her hyperactive terrier starts talking and her long-lost biker witch Grandma is hurling Smuckers jars filled with magic. Just when she thinks she's seen it all Lizzie learns she's a demon slayer-and all hell is after her. Of course that's not the only thing after her. Dimitri Kallinikos a devastatingly handsome shape-shifting griffin needs Lizzie to slay a demon of his own. But how do you talk a girl you've never met into going straight to the underworld? Lie. And if that doesn't work how dangerous could a little seduction be?

Good start
I like the supernatural action / romance genre so there was much to like about this story. Lizzie Brown inherits powers when discovers she comes from a long line of demon slayers. She also discovers family she never knew she had and a seriously smoking “protector”. That said, this story felt chaotic and rushed - the whole narration took place over 3-4 days and it seemed an awfully short time to accumulate knowledge, master skills, and change the habits of a lifetime. I respectfully disagree with a previous reviewer about the narration. I enjoyed Tavia Gilbert’s performances in previous books and I enjoyed it in this one too.

Excruciating narration
Loved the story. However the narration was so bad that it distracted from the story. I want to read the rest of the series and will return the second book in audio. It's terrible.

Whiney
The "heroin" was so useless and the narrator red in such a whiney voice I could not tolerate listening to this book. I stopped listening and really didn't like what I heard.
