Fantastic book!
This book assisted me to further understand how my girlfriend wants to be treated. However be careful if you tell her about it because she got offended when I did and asked why I am trying to figure her out hahaha

Good concepts
Good concepts and easily applicable for most relationships. A little hetro normative but look beyond that for the learnings.

Only relevant if you’re just starting your journey
I rate the 5 love languages concepts, and Gary Chapman, however, this is really dumbed down and thus only relevant if you’ve never done any personal development work before.

It’s an okay read.
The book is akin to reading about body language, we already innately know what this, and if we dedicated the time to working it out, we may have found them out on our own. This book speeds up the process.
You will get a few “aha” moments as well. For example my ‘love language’ is ‘Acts of Service’ and the only long term relationships that have worked out after the two or three year honeymoon period is over, have been with partners that have ‘Acts of Service’ as their primary love language. The partners that needed gifts lasted days or weeks at best. The book makes you think, however I found the book in places not relevant. I listened to the book a second time and found the same thing happened; I got bored in parts. I was trusting that by listening to the book again with fresh educated ears I might get something new, I didn’t; the best I could muster in this is I am super happy that my partner is the rarer “same as me” love language. I don’t think I would cope with gift giving, words of affirmation, and although I can do quality time or touch, I couldn’t do this for a lifetime full on.
Maybe these questions could be on dating sites so you can find the right one now, and not wait for the honeymoon period to be over. 😊
