About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

A thrilling instalment in the globally bestselling Women's Murder Club series.

Trouble always finds the Women's Murder Club.

Sergeant Lindsay Boxer, Medical Examiner Claire Washburn, Assistant District Attorney Yuki Castellano, and crime writer Cindy Thomas are celebrating at San Francisco's finest restaurant.

But before they can raise their glasses to both a birthday and a wedding, a violent assault interrupts their festivities.

Claire examines the victim. Lindsay makes an arrest. Yuki takes the case. Cindy covers it.

The case is complicated by the plaintiff's unreliable version of events - and the shocking reason behind her ever-changing memory.

As Yuki argues the toughest case of her career, Lindsay chases down a high-society killer whose target practice may leave the Women's Murder Club short a bridesmaid...or two.

Repatiatrition, Repatriation

Same lines repeated throughout to fill up space and no progress. I can’t see myself buying another James Patterson audiobook.

Storyline a bit disappointing

Not as captivating as the rest of the Women’s Murder Club but January Lavoy’s narration never disappoints.

Tops

I have loved this whole series. It feels a fitting finish to this wonderful series. January LeVoy reads splendidly, as always.

Missed the mark

I am a huge Jamea Patterson fan and really enjoy the Women's Murder Club series. I love the multiple main characters and that it feels like going home each time I read a new book. However, although it started off intriguing each storyline fell flat. I didn't get any real feeling of surprise or thrill, it was just...okay. I will keep reading the series though as I do love the characters but hoping for a little more intrigue next time.

Three Stories, all ending easily

There was no drama, no mystery. Each separate story had no substance and the ending was just quickly thrown together without any thought. it had to be the worst story in the sequence. Sad!

After being an avid fan for years - I wont be wasting any more time and money if this is the calibre I can expect

The book starts off really well, but instead of a gripping novel, this delivers 3 story lines, one centred around Lindsay’s husband - and does not involve any of the 4 main characters. That aside, the tedious descriptions of Lindsay’s domestic and sex life, the endless recaps of detail I’d read 2 chapters ago, the expectation that all listeners will be used to modern day slang description made listening to the end a bit of a chore, but I persevered with it expecting a firework ending - instead it ends like a damp squib… Very disappointed, feels like I’ve just parted company with an old friend !!
