Publisher's Summary
Love enters the chat in this hilarious, heartfelt rom-com by Audie Award-winning, New York Times best-selling author Kylie Scott!
Romance author Riley Cooper always dreamed of living by the water. But within a day of landing in the charming seaside town of Port Stewart to work on her latest book, she's getting calls and texts for some dude on her new number. Weird ones. Sad ones. Sexy ones. Ones that make her want to meet him. For curiosity's sake...if nothing else.
After years of being on-again, off-again with his high school sweetheart, all Connor wants is to move on with his life. If only everyone in Port Stewart would let him. What he needs is to be seen with someone else. So when fate puts him in the path of the new girl in town who got his old number, faking it together seems like the perfect solution.
Spending time with the gorgeous former prom king might be great research for Riley’s romance writing...if only she can keep her feelings in check. But the more she gets to know him, the harder she’s falling. Can their serendipitous meeting turn into something real and true?

ok
Yes it was entertaining but a little too strange for me to decide whether I like it. It was free in my account so I can't complain, but I would not have paid for this listen as it fell flat for me.
Don't let that discourage you from listening and making your own mind up esp. when it's free.

Kylie does it again.
Andi is one of the narrators I love. Always able to define different characters. The banter and strong woman that Kylie write always is some of the best. But still bring their own weekness and personalities.

Another great Kylie Scott / Andi Arndt pairing
This author/narrator duo is always a winning combination, and you can’t go wrong with joining them for another romance.
If you are familiar with Ms Scott’s work, there’s nothing super new or different here. She writes well, and her stories are enjoyable. However, the characters feel very similar to her other stories, and there’s a few turns of phrase that pop up consistently across stories that make it hard to differentiate any one recent Kylie Scott story from another. Similarly, one Andi Arndt narrated Kylie Scott female main character sounds (and feels) much like any other.
Technically well written, and well narrated. An enjoyable, light listen but not a revisit for me. I couldn’t really feel the characters falling in love, and wasn’t overly invested in them.

Fun but imperfect
Andi Arnt can do no wrong, but unfortunately this story was a little bit half-baked. Had some major eye-rolling moments with the whole 'romance author' storyline, especially when he's listening to the audiobook narrated by Andi. I really wanted something/anything significant to happen but the story just sort of peddles along and then it ends, so it's a little bit of an overall shrug

Another fun read from Kylie Scott.
I feel like I'm on a see-saw with Andi Arndt and narration. Sometimes she knocks it out of the park and sometimes she leaves me wanting, and mostly, the author I'm listening to her read is Scott.
This one was a great narration for me.
The plot has a few almost fourth-wall-breaking moments like a romance writer entering into a fake relationship, and Andi Arndt referencing herself in the text.
This definitely seemed to serve as a vent for Kylie Scott and her frustrations with how the world sees romance writers (and as a fellow romance writer, I'm so with her on that), and it's done in a not-so-subtle, but fun way.
Loved the reference to one of my favourite series of her, The Larsen Bros (Repeat and Pause),
The relationship missed the fun banter I'm used to from Scott and the chemistry wasn't as spicy as I'm used to from her writing.
But I am looking forward to seeing more from this series.
I've been reading Scott for years and some books hit different than others.
I thought this was a fun, quick romance set in a fun small town that kind of reminds me of Stars Hollow.

Mixed feelings
I finished this today and I enjoyed it up until the 3/4 mark.
The antics didn’t align with the character and felt like it came out of no where just for shock value but then left me questioning if we even know him at all. It didn’t make sense. Communication between them is horrible but the story was fun. Sorry really confused about this one!

100% recommend
I got those book as I was in a slump and I am so glad I did! the writing was great, the narration was amazing! I would have loved more added to the story, his perspective perhaps....? Maybe more fight towards the end of the book, but for a semi short story, I thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated the work presented
