Publisher's Summary

A double shot of devastating news turns Justin Evanson's life upside down. When he learns his father has cancer, and he has siblings he never knew existed, he leaves everything behind and moves to Virginia to support his dad as he tries to make amends with his family - a family Justin's not sure he has a place in. Things go from bad to worse when he discovers his recent hookup is his newfound sister's brother-in-law.

Drew Sinclair never expected to see Justin after their night at the club or to discover their family connection. If anyone found out, it would give Drew's brother another reason to hate him. But there's something about Justin that draws him in, and it's not only because they burn up the sheets together.

One meeting leads to another, and before Justin realizes it, Drew has become the only thing in his world he feels is his. And for the first time in his life, Drew knows what it means to be needed. Being there for Justin and supporting him when things spiral out of control feels right. But with so much happening so quickly, it's hard to trust their feelings. Is this thing between them real? Or just a test drive before life forces them down two separate roads?

Thoughtful, heartfelt - I absolutely loved it!

Justin Evanson and Drew Sinclair’s brief club hookup comes back to haunt them when Justin realises his newly found step-sister is married to Drew’s brother. Justin’s father is dying of cancer, Justin is just getting to know his step-brother and sister, and Drew is a constant disappoint to his own family, so it seems wise not to complicate things but their secret attraction is undeniable. This all worked so well, it was a fantastic story with a thoughtful exploration of the loss of a parent who has let everyone down (the plot carried over from book 2 in the series - read them in order). Both Justin and Drew were decent, loveable guys and their backstories were compelling but not depressing. The story was heart-warming and positive, I especially loved the last ride Justin, his brother and his father took. Sean Crisden is a favourite audio narrator, his deep, smooth voice works wonders on this fabulous story (currently free on the Audible Plus catalogue).

Beautifully threaded series 4.5 stars

I remember sitting in Textiles class and sewing my fingers together with cotton thread and a needle, it was a weird sensation and it was done to get attention but there was so much more to it. Riley Hart has threaded a beautiful handful of fingers (I mean characters ;) ) together in this series, they were complex, raw, real, vunerable, beautiful and funny, so much so, it was a visual and visceral experience. The relationships were filled with truly connected conversations even after some internal monologues, but we weren't left with long and major angst, the characters become real because they dealt with what they were feeling, quickly. I loved each couple and the thread between each of them and their stories which culminated in the third and final book of them all being together, which was perfect. I have never read a Riley Hart book before, I truly commend her character development in this series and her love to giving couples courage to try harder in relationships and be real, life is too short. Spice was hot, although at times too much explaining of mechanics (was ok for the GFY troupe but not for Landon and Rod, but kinda ok for Justin and Drew).
My gripes are minor, 1. Rod should have had one more scene in book one (it was a bit of a jump for him to be besties with Nic & Bryce by book two), 2. The epilogue in book two was less than satisfying (but we got some satisfaction in book three), 3. My biggest issue was - more often than not, in the middle of chapters, the POV changed and it took a bit to get used to, no matter how hard Sean Crisden tried to let us know with his voice altering, it was confusing, Riley needed to have better markers to let the reader know, I hand to rewind more times than I could count to clarify who's POV it was so that I didn't lose detail because it often happened in the middle of a scene.
So that leads me to Sean, he did a fabulous job ( I generally HATE it when the same narrator is used for a series, even if they give a fabulous attempt to change their voice), I think he really got the vibe of each character right, although I still think it would have been better with Joel Leslie as Rod !! and other narrators but it was a still a great performance !!
I love that this series is part of the free catalogue at a time when I don't have much to spare $

Life, love and… death

Not quite what I expected. Once it started though it’s a story you can’t stop midway. Just another 5 mins, 5 chapters later! There’s always something new popping up, literally! Although the some of graphic depiction of ‘love making’ were not to my “liking”.. the joining of characters, family, love and then loss was certainly worth the several evenings listening!
