Publisher's Summary
Temple of the Grail is a critically acclaimed best seller translated into four languages.
Heresy, Hypocrisy, Murder....
France, 1254.
Situated high in the Pyrenees the monastery of St. Lazarus is a forbidding place. Behind its ramparts and battlements it hides a secret so dangerous its keepers will kill to protect it.
At the end of a bitter winter, a delegation headed by the ambitious Inquisitor Rainiero Sacconi arrives to investigate the monks of St. Lazarus.
A Templar knight and his young scribe are sent by the king of France to oversee the investigation. When monks begin to die in gruesome ways they must unravel the secret at the heart of St. Lazarus, but with the Antichrist at their heels and the inquisitor watching their every step, they find themselves drawn into a fight, not only for their lives, but also for their souls.
Temple of the Grail is a tour de force for history buffs and fans of the medieval detective genre.

What a book!
Where does Temple of the Grail rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
The best so far!
What did you like best about this story?
I love history and medieval murder mysteries so this was right up my alley. I liked how well written this book is and the atmosphere created by the author. It is really well paced and darkly mysterious with great descriptions and dialogue and memorable characters. I couldn't stop listening to Matthew Lloyd Davies.
Which character – as performed by Matthew Lloyd Davies – was your favourite?
Christian and Andre were my favourites. They were perfect. But there are so many good characterisations in this book: Asa and Eisik and the inquisitor, the avaricious bishop - all captured with skill and warmth. Matthew Lloyd Davies has certainly grasped the book's atmosphere perfectly. With all the latin and so many characters it was a tour de force! I hope he does the other three books by Adriana Koulias because I will buy them.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The end moved me deeply.
Any additional comments?
This is historical fiction at its best and narrated in a very sensitive way. I have read the book before and this narration has brought it to life!

Mystical Templar Rubbish
Can’t really believe I finished listening to this. If you want to waste your money and money on a story which is rapt up in Christian mysticism then do so. Luckily I received my money back from Amazon. No more time spent on the Templars.
