About this listen

What's it really like to work on Wall Street? Follow Matt Connolly as he moves from entry-level gofer to head trader to federal defendant.

Fresh out of college in 1987, Connolly stumbles onto a job as a clerk at JP Morgan. Through hard work, dumb luck, and a watchful eye, he learns how to trade bonds and bahts, paper and punches. After a decade Connolly is lured from JP Morgan to start a trading desk at Deutsche Bank. He keeps climbing the rungs and avoiding the shade. But the late nights, globetrotting, and frat-house culture are taking a toll.

After twenty-one years Connolly feels old for Wall Street, and he calls it a career. But not so fast. Nine years later, he's a federal defendant in the LIBOR scandal.
