Publisher's Summary

When we use chemical fertilizers, we injure the microbial life that sustains plants and then become increasingly dependent on an arsenal of toxic substances. Teaming with Microbes offers an alternative to this vicious circle and details how to garden in a way that strengthens, rather than destroys, the soil food web. You’ll discover that healthy soil is teeming with life - not just earthworms and insects, but a staggering multitude of bacteria, fungi, and other microorganisms.

This must-have guide is for everyone, from those devoted to organic gardening techniques to weekend gardeners who simply want to grow healthy plants without resorting to chemicals.

Brilliant book!

Absolutely brilliant book! A thorough exploration of soil food web theory and PRACTICAL applications. Reader is slightly mechanical but content is gold. Would suit beginner, intermediate and advanced gardeners wanting to use organic principles.

A must read for growers and gardeners

If you're growing using an organic approach, this is a must read. Jeff approaches the topic from a scientific perspective and knows a lot about the soil food web. No BS straight forward read. Will definately read again and will recommend.

Incredible content

The narration of this audiobook is, although clear, also a bit clumsy and there is some mispronunciation at times. Apart from that, this audiobook is a MUST. Jeff and Wayne explain the soil food web in great depth whilst still managing to be engaging and interesting in the way they present the information. A brilliant book and one that I’ll read or listen to over and over again!

Better as a book to read.

Clunky narration, odd pronunciation, very staccato overall, an unpleasant experience for what is an interesting and well written book. I found the choice to read spp as written rather than simply say species an odd one and utterly unsympathetic to the material. I'm stuck at chapter 5 and will just borrow the physical book from the library rather than continue.

Great content, terrible narration

If you can stand listening to a robot, you’ll get a lot of useful info! But probably better in book form.

Robotic narration

The narrator sounds like a robot. Expression is extremely awkward. It's very distracting to an otherwise great book.
