Too dumbed-down for my liking
The attempt to describe Daoist/Taoist concepts to a westernised audience leaves me unsure of what is a core concept traditionally, and what is the author's simplification (aka technique being applied to support reader comprehension). I am not looking for a thesaurus providing long lists of suggested synonyms for Daoist terminology, nor expect cherry-picked meditation tool tips to in any way shed light on Daoist concepts.
It may assist some readers who appreciate the style where I do not! But I could not to ignore my mounting concern that the absence of necessary texture and complexity would probably only provide a warped impression of Daoism that will be difficult to later unlearn and correct.
This is at about halfway through the book.
