About this listen

Racer McKay is a broody bastard.

From the moment I met him, he's been rude, irritable, and unbearable. And worse? He's broke.

A contractor working to remodel my parents pool house for extra cash, he stomps around in those clunky construction boots with his tool belt wrapped around his narrow waist, and a chip on his shoulder.

Racer McKay is also infuriatingly...sexy as hell. I want to take that pencil tucked behind his ear, and draw lazy lines slowly up and down his body all the while wanting to strangle him at the same time. We try to stay out of each other's way...that is, until I have no other option but to ask for his help. But what I don't realize is he needs me just as much as I need him. I have money he's desperate for, and he holds the key to making my dreams come true.

Our pranks turn from sarcastic banter, to sexual tension and lust-filled glances. Bickering matches quickly morph into slow burn moments. We're hot, we're cold. We push and pull. I need him, I don't want him.

We're on the verge of combusting with an agreement dangling dangerously between us. Neither one of us can afford to lose one another and yet, we're finding it quite hard to decipher the line that rests between love and hate.

Contains mature themes.

narration

great story line. I really enjoy your works. unfortunately, I had a hard time with the male voice of racer. sounded very nastily. the Martial voice of the reader, narrating in 3rd person was great but when it came to racer's pov, it sounded like he was holding his nose. the narrating was really good.

I loved the story

The male narrator's voice for Racer just doesn't suit the character. it's far from sexy as Racer is described to be. When he is narrating what Racer is thinking or doing he does a great job. I don't understand why the change in voice for the same person. For that reason I chose to mostly read this book instead of listen to it.

Did not match the character at all, and was like fingernails on a chalkboard to listen too..

really ruined the whole story.

Wow

Truly loved Racer. His strength and belief in the values that he was taught and grew up with. Values that are so important. Loved Georgie for standing up for herself and believing in the two of them. Narration was awesome too.

Great books, but what didn’t I like?

I’m a huge fan of Meghan’s work. I’ve loved every single book she’s written and recommended her books to anyone who asks for book suggestions.

With this book I struggled to listen to it and not because of the writing. I found the male narrator very irritating when he, ‘put on’ voices and laughed then read that the character laughed.

Narrators have a big influence on a book for me and sadly he made this brilliant authors book an endurance instead of the absolute pleasure.

It was good

Good book, but disliked the male narrator’s take. Chill dude. I’m sure your normal voice would have been heaps better than whatever that was.

Good story if you can get passed that.

Worst Narrator I've ever heard

This would have to be the worst male narrator I have ever heard and I have a library of 250 books, so disappointed as I would have loved to have listened to this book, his voice was cartoon like and childish, put up with it for half an hour and just couldn't go on, the Author must be horrified at how her story has been treated with such disrespect, horrendous attempt, sounded like a hyena with sinus problems and thats being kind, it needs to be recorded again ASAP

Skip it

The male voice in this audible book was so off putting that I was tempted to not read the book. It was like a cartoon voice, I’ve never actually heard anyone speak this annoyingly. It made it difficult to connect to the character and certainly didn’t make you hope that the female lead ends up with him. I will never purchase another book with this actors voice. Overall the story was ok, but the voice ruined it for me
