About this listen

How hard can it be to resist temptation?

Adeline Walsh never thought she would give up her worldly possessions—her iPhone, her make-up and even her successful life as a dog breeder—to join a convent on the other side of the country. But after the discovery of a shocking family secret she feels called to a life of poverty, chastity and obedience.

Life at the Smallton convent is nothing like Adeline expected. The other sisters quickly become like family and Adeline feels like she's found her place in the world. Until she meets Holden Campbell, a man as tempting as the devil himself.

Due to a devastating accident in his past, Holden is not interested in any relationship or even a friendship with Adeline, but when their dogs keep bringing them together, he reluctantly accepts her help to organize a charity event. An accidental kiss tests both their resolves, but they are determined to fight the attraction raging between them.

Holden doesn't believe in love and Adeline isn't going to risk everything she's just found. Can they resist each other while continuing to work on a cause they both passionately believe in?

An emotional and uplifting story about overcoming your past from bestselling author Rachael Johns.

God has ways of moving

A really great listen. Full of past hurts and healing. wasn't sure how it would end. the author's note at the end summed it up perfectly.

Talk to the heart

I love the storyline once I started listening I couldn’t stop I just wish the males voice was a bit stronger. Sometimes I struggled to work out if it was a her or him talking.

Feel good listen

Light hearted and enjoyable. Adelaine is like a pantomime baddy in the first two Rose Hill books, I always thought that she deserved a break!

This book does that 😊

I couldn’t put it down!!

Another beautiful book with so many emotions. This story has melted my heart in so many ways. I really enjoyed Adeline’s story. I highly recommend reading any of Rachael John’s books. 💕

Adeline Walsh is redeemed!

Loved this book! Was not a fan of Ms Walsh in previous books, but her reference to people being dog breeds (in a nice way) won me over early in (don't we all do that??). Great listen, but do yourself a favour, and read the first 2, as they are also brilliant!

The narrator ruined this story

I have read and enjoyed all of this author’s previous books but this one was trite with unsophisticated text. This was highlighted by the woeful narration. Casey Withoos has narrated this author’s other books and she is excellent. In this book the characters were not differentiated by tone which occasionally left me wondering who had said what. It was overall very poor.
I have read this book is a reimagined “The Sound of Music” storyline. The only relationship is that the protagonist in each and committed her life to God. There are no other similarities. I found this book boring and cringey.

Barely plausible storyline and the narration!!!

The storline was barely plausible. The narration was awful. I look forward to Rachael Johns books but I couldn't even finish this one.
