Rushed but Entertaining
First book is a slog to get going, when it does, it's alright? For a series called "System School", there is only one book that focuses on the school. Characters often get forgotten and it feels like they were going to be a big part of the story only to never be seen again;
SPOILERS:
Marvin summons basically a god spirit and Calli and him hatch a dragon that is quickly forgotten as they move onto another planet.
Kiki is basically the Chekov's gun for the contract Calli was bound to, after she does her part, she and her partner dissapear and most likely die to the villain's mother (who is the partner's grandmother) and is only mentioned once afterwards dismissively. Even though Kiki is the main character's closest sister and has gone above and beyond to do everything to help him, he couldn't care less.
I was so disappointed to have so many plot holes never solved or made to be a huge deal and never mentioned again.
