About this listen
Soon to be a major TV series starring Ella Purnell
The last person who called me ‘Sweetpea’ ended up dead…
Rhiannon is your average girl next door, settled with her boyfriend and little dog…but she’s got a killer secret.
By day her job as an editorial assistant is demeaning and unsatisfying. By evening she dutifully listens to her friend’s plans for marriage and babies whilst secretly making a list.
A kill list.
From the man on the checkout who always mishandles her apples, to the driver who cuts her off on her way to work, to the people who have got it coming, Rhiannon’s ready to get her revenge.
Because the girl everyone overlooks might be able to get away with murder…

One of the best books I’ve ever read!
The humour of this book had me in stitches! For such a twisted, macabre subject, it was hilariously written and told. The narrator was brilliant and I honestly didn’t want it to end.

Good but a little reptative
Overall I enjoyed this story but I wonder if I liked it more than I actually did because of the narration. The story is a dark comedy. It is original and well written but I found it quite repetitive. The reader does have to suspend belief quite a lot of the time or accept that the British Police are completely incompetent. I nearly DNF because I became frustrated at the repetitive nature and slow pace but am glad I did finish it in the end.

Great book
Something a little different. Went straight on to the second book in the series, In Bloom which I enjoyed even more than this one. However both are great reads. Dark, black humour if your into that sort of thing then you will like this. As evil as this character is I still love her can’t wait for the third book to be released.

Amazing!
As someone who doesn't usually like crime fiction, this book is amazing! Rhiannon is dark and funny, with the narration really bringing her to life. The perfect balance of blasè and serious.

Protagonist was more annoying than scary.
I'm not sure what exactly rubbed me wrong about this book. The voice actor was excellent. But the story is 85% complaining about people, 10% very graphic "romance" scenes and 5% actual killing. And in a book about a serial killer that ratio is way off. And I know a psychopathic serial isn't exactly supposed to be sympathetic but Rihannon was more annoying than anything. In short this book isn't considered enough or has a likeable enough protaginist to be British Female Dexter. But nor is it focused on murder enough to be a deranged power fantasy. This is more Bridget Jones's diary if the titular character snapped. If that's your cup of tea then fantastic, but it wasn't mine.
