A 5-star program that's missing a vocab list
This is a wonderful language learning resource, particularly if you already have some exposure to the language. It really gets you speaking and thinking in your target language. The conversation practice is especially useful. **I would give it 5 stars, but I would really like it if this came with a vocab list for creating flashcards, for example, and for learning the various spellings. As I am already familiar with Swedish, this was not a problem for me, but it would really be a problem for an absolute beginner.** My feeling is, this would be best used in combination with a textbook or learning app, such as Babbel or even Duolingo on a budget. I also thought the choice of 'ledsen' for 'sorry' was unusual, as its literal meaning is 'sad'. It's sometimes used to apologise when something demoralising or tragic happens, in the same way one would say, "I'm sorry", in English, if there were a death. It can technically be used in the context of the audiobook's conversation, but 'forlåt' may have been more appropriate, or better still, 'ursäkta' (although I understand this wasn't chosen, as to avoid vocabulary overlap and confusion). I'm in desperate need of conversational practice, so Pimsleur has been a revolutionary addition to my learning program. It's also really great, because the practice is timed, so you can sit down and dedicate a set amount of time, nor do you have to worry about how efficient you're being with that time, or whether you're comprehending the material sufficiently. Language learning is just a matter of persistence. Pimsleur makes that particularly easy. They say 20 hours is enough time to become competent in a skill, so if you complete Swedish: Phase 1, especially in combination with an app or written program, then you'll reach that goal in a fairly straightforward way. Just download it, do the lessons, no excuses! I wish I'd started earlier.

Don’t waste your credit
Through this audio book you’ll learn how to say 4 versions of the same phrase; far less than you’d learn through and app like Duo Lingo or Babble. The method would be worthwhile and beneficial if throughout you learned more than one sentence. I’d rate it a 0 if I could.
