About this listen

How much is your child worth? That's the question Hugo and Emily Cox must answer when they get a ransom demand for their child - from Alice, the surrogate mother they paid to carry their baby. The police are helpless. No law has been broken - the baby belongs to their surrogate. And Hugo has a secret he's keeping from his wife that makes their search even more desperate. Now Hugo and Emily must find their missing daughter...even if it costs them everything they own. Enjoyable psych thriller

Not what you think. Please dont think properly organised surrogacy is like this...thats for sure!! This was enjoyable and i recommend a listen but much of it is barely credible ... with hockum medical diagnosis and ludicrous business practises on all sides. Regardless, it works...and i enjoyed it. Thanks Audible. 😊

Good listening

I didn't mind this audiobook. Great narration and a decent plot. A tad long winded but still worth a listen.

Sydney

Very interesting. Lots of twists and turns. A little hard to believe one could be so naive and that one man could have nine lives. Having said that I enjoyed the story and fell in love with the narrator’s voice.

Devious indeed.

Full of twists and turns.

Some unsavoury characters in this book; some going to extraordinary levels to enact revenge!
Narration throughout was good and would recommend to others.

well told with thorough back story. whenever I felt pity for the main character he soon enough acts like a douchebag again. definitely well told and engaging.

Entertaining

The narration is really appropriate, Hugo sounds exactly like he should. A foppish, entitled slightly arrogant public school privileged man/boy, running Daddy's company and enjoying the riches and spoils of a life he has not earned other than by being born into it.

The story is foreseeable, with some twists, but no great revelations that are not obvious. They are delivered, however in an engaging and entertaining manner. There are some plot holes, and the suspension of belief needs to be employed at a high level at times, but don't let that get in the way of a good story and an entertaining holiday listen. I finished it in a couple of days - easy to follow, and suspenseful enough to keep you engaged to the end.
