Tense, edge of seat listen- a very clever thriller
I found the pace of the tension in this book quite exhausting but in a good way... a 'page turning, keep you listening' on the edge of your seat way. Ali, the main protagonist, lives constantly on edge, and in danger of being found out and it's so well written, you the reader/listener feel the pressure vicariously and as intensely throughout.
So many intricate twists and turns, and you continuously question who you can trust and feel the need to constantly look over your shoulder as if you were in Ali's position. The tension builds really well and there are some great twists throughout, which can be predictable and then swing the other way.. ouch!
Also throw in the South of France amazing location, great descriptions of delicious foods and imaginative scenery you can really visualise, it's beautifully and realistically narrated - all round, great book and highly recommended.
