About this listen
I spent college worrying about responsibilities and earning my teaching degree, so before graduation and moving to Atlanta with my best friend, Ross, I figure I deserve a little fun. I’ve never been with an older man, but the guy at the bar grabs my attention and doesn’t let go…for multiple rounds, all night long.
The next day, when Ross introduces me to his dad, the last thing I expect is for him to be my hookup from the night before, in town from Atlanta for his son’s graduation.
The best thing would be to pretend it never happened, which is easier said than done. The more I talk to Harrison, the more I like him. We enjoy teasing each other, spending time together, and despite how successful he is, we both know what it’s like to have nothing. Neither of us wants a relationship, so when Harrison suggests a no-strings-attached fling, it’s perfect.
But between bills, worrying about Mom, and wondering how I thought I had what it takes to be a good teacher, Harrison’s always there, even when it’s hard for me to accept help.
Falling for Harrison wasn’t part of the agreement.
I don’t know how to trust, there’s a 17-year age difference, and he’s my best friend’s dad.
No-strings-attached has never been so difficult, because I’m pretty sure I want to be tied to Harrison for good.

wonderful story
I loved the way the story weaved from an innocent 'hook-up' to becoming an awkward situation that blossoms into an amazing love story

Sweet best-friend’s father romance!
24 yo beginning teacher Zander initially regrets his steamy one-night stand with a sexy 41 yo guy when he finds out that Harrison is Zander’s best friend’s father. Unusually for this kind of trope, Harrison’s best friend, Ross, quickly accepts the situation and the journey is really about Zander and Harrison realising that their mutually-agreed no-strings-attached relationship has grown plenty of strings. I loved this sweet romance, especially Zander and Harrison’s caring interactions and their banter over the age difference. I also loved the exploration of rich vs poor and how they avoided an unhealthy power dynamic. This is a lovely feel-good story. Audio narrator Iggy Toma is a firm favourite, he’s an expert puller of heartstrings and he brings a lot of empathy to both characters.

Story of Zander and Harrison
This is a best friend’s dad, friends with benefits to lovers romance, featuring Harrison and Zander, and it is a standalone book. This is a reread for me, one of the insta reviewers I follow wrote a post on this book and inspired me to jump back in to the book.
Zander meets a super hunky older man, and decides to have an anonymous one night of fun before graduating university the next day. The graduation ceremony goes off without a hitch, until Ross, Zander’s best friend introduces him to his dad, Harrison, the super hunk from last night. Oh so awkward and oh so hilarious!
Zander is a tough nut to crack, he is fiercely independent, but little by little through the book there is a slow build to their relationship. This book draws you in from the beginning and you can’t help but cheer for the MMCs to get out of their own way and commit already.
There is lots of spice, banter about their age gap, as well as caring support and interactions. I shed a few tears towards the end, happy tears. The narration is also amazing, Iggy Toma is one of my favs.
Ps, Zander is the best son ever!
