About this listen

SOME MEMORIES ARE BURIED FOR A REASON. . . The new thriller by the #1 bestselling and award-winning master of crime

The most painful of Evie Cormac's memories have been locked away, ever since she was held prisoner as a child - a child whose rescue captured hearts and headlines.

Forensic psychologist Cyrus Haven's mission is to guide her to something near normality. But today, on a British beach, seventeen bodies wash up in front of them. There is only one survivor, with two women still missing. And Evie's nightmares come roaring back . . .

Whatever happened all those years ago lies at the core of this new tragedy. Because these deaths are no accident. The same dark forces are reaching out, dragging her back into the storm.

Evie must now call upon Cyrus's unique skills, and her own, in their search for the missing pieces of this complex and haunting puzzle. But will that be enough to save them? And who will pay for the past?

PHENOMENAL

I have loved every book in this series as well as ALL Michael Robotham’s stories and once again this has been brilliant. I think this has been especially brilliant as it answered things for Evie and I also think it made Cyrus realise how important Evie is. He always cared for her but Evie is HIS family. I hate finishing these stories and just hope that Michael Robotham is writing as we speak 🤣🤣🤣 . I don’t has celebrity crushes or hero’s but if asked who I would invite to a meal ( famous) this author would be on top of list.
I really don’t think you need to even read any reviews on this book as if you have read any of his books and had read this series then reading this one is a given AND it was PHENOMENAL ❤️

Bringing together the pieces

Loved this 4th book in the series and how it pieced together the back story of Evie. Thought its links to the dreadful people trafficking trade and those who reap riches from it were excellent and how you feel sick and sad at the plight of so many. A most wonderful book brought to larger than life by the narrator Joe Jameson.

Michael Robotham does it again! I’m not sure if he is going to write another book in this series, but I certainly hope so!

Just loved it. It was the kind of book you race to finish, because you want to know what happens but don’t want it to end, all at the same time!

Excellent narration and characters

Well rounded story with great character development. Nicely ties up threads from previous novels though not necessary to read them first.

Not disappointing

Continues the story nicely, wasn't sure at the start what direction the story was travelling but doesn't disappoint. Gave it 4 out of 5 as it could have been a tad more exciting but don't regret getting.
