Publisher's Summary

SOME MEMORIES ARE BURIED FOR A REASON. . . The new thriller by the #1 bestselling and award-winning master of crime

The most painful of Evie Cormac's memories have been locked away, ever since she was held prisoner as a child - a child whose rescue captured hearts and headlines.

Forensic psychologist Cyrus Haven's mission is to guide her to something near normality. But today, on a British beach, seventeen bodies wash up in front of them. There is only one survivor, with two women still missing. And Evie's nightmares come roaring back . . .

Whatever happened all those years ago lies at the core of this new tragedy. Because these deaths are no accident. The same dark forces are reaching out, dragging her back into the storm.

Evie must now call upon Cyrus's unique skills, and her own, in their search for the missing pieces of this complex and haunting puzzle. But will that be enough to save them? And who will pay for the past?

Not disappointing

Continues the story nicely, wasn't sure at the start what direction the story was travelling but doesn't disappoint. Gave it 4 out of 5 as it could have been a tad more exciting but don't regret getting.

Great listen!

Michael Robotham is just at a different level with his crime thrillers. Love this book. Slow initially but once I got into it I was hooked couldn’t put it down. Great narrator and great story.

Riveting until the end

A little more into the life of Evie and her past but hopefully lots more to come. Please don't keep us in suspense for too long. I have thoroughly enjoyed the whole series and the reader has been spot on with portraying the personalities of the characters in this series.

Loved this chapter in the Evie series. I think there is room for at least one more too!

Reunited with Cyrus and Evie again woohoo!

I love the characters of Cyrus and Evie, they are so fascinating! It was so great to get straight into the storyline, being familiar with the characters already. My favourite thing about the book was finding out more about Evie's past. It felt a little bit slow in parts and I confused some of the names of new characters. However the story tied up nicely at the end and clarified the role of each character. The ending was really really good. Definitely worth a read. The narrator is very talented, with the amount of accents and different tones of voices he can do.

Glad to have these guys back

Pretty good story.
I enjoy the narrator and love the characters, however, the story was not up to par with the others in the series.

PHENOMENAL

I have loved every book in this series as well as ALL Michael Robotham’s stories and once again this has been brilliant. I think this has been especially brilliant as it answered things for Evie and I also think it made Cyrus realise how important Evie is. He always cared for her but Evie is HIS family. I hate finishing these stories and just hope that Michael Robotham is writing as we speak 🤣🤣🤣 . I don’t has celebrity crushes or hero’s but if asked who I would invite to a meal ( famous) this author would be on top of list.
I really don’t think you need to even read any reviews on this book as if you have read any of his books and had read this series then reading this one is a given AND it was PHENOMENAL ❤️
