About this listen
New York Times Best Seller
In this book, Billy Crystal, currently starring in the new TV show The Comedians as an aging comic, gives a hilarious and heartfelt account of what it's really like to get older. Billy Crystal is turning 65, and he’s not happy about it. With his trademark wit and heart, he outlines the absurdities and challenges that come with growing old, from insomnia to memory loss to leaving dinners with half your meal on your shirt. He also looks back at the most powerful and memorable moments of his long and storied life, from entertaining his relatives as a kid in Long Beach, Long Island to his years doing stand-up in the village up through his legendary stint at Saturday Night Live, When Harry Met Sally, and his long run as host of the Academy Awards.
Listeners get a front-row seat to his one-day career with the New York Yankees, his love affair with Sophia Loren, and his enduring friendships with several of his idols, including Mickey Mantle and Muhammad Ali.
He lends a light touch to more serious topics like religion (“the aging friends I know have turned to the Holy Trinity: Advil, bourbon, and Prozac”), grandparenting, and, of course, dentistry. As wise and poignant as they are funny, Crystal’s reflections are an unforgettable look at an extraordinary life well lived.

Insightful, identifiable and funny.
Insightful, identifiable and funny. Brilliant to listen to Billy recounting his stories in his own voice, bringing his life to life.

Sentimental, funny, engaging & thoughtful - beautiful.
I am surprised about how much I enjoyed this book. I found Billy funny, amusing & easy to listen to.
His stories, his memories & his love for his family - incredible experiences with people who were and are important to him.
He’s a sentimental soul & this book has made me rewatch movies of him that I like. I’m going to watch 700 Sundays on my dads birthday for the nostalgia and I expect it will pull on the heart strings.

A funny and we’ll told story
Love the story but also that Billy if just a genuine kind and loving family man no need for all the craziness that seems to go with fame.

Entertaining and Insightful.
A comical and thoughtful reflection on life when you have "one-foot-in-the-grave" told with energy and great humour by Billy Crystal. Part autobiography and part musing reflection on life when you are over 60. It was a pleasure to listen to Billy Crystal narrate his life, his worries, family life and pivotal career moments and people in his life as well as his bug bears in his senior year. This audio is presented in two parts; readings infront of a live auduence as well as a private, iintimate narration. This unusual audio delivery production gels together very well. And yes, Billy does eventually find his keys!

Like it the more I listened to it
Was worried at first, as a 34 year old male I couldn't relate to his opening chapters to do with being old. But when it started going through his life it was honest and fascinating. Loved it.?
