About this listen
Zoë Merrick lived an ordinary life until late one night, she was brutally attacked and left for dead. She survived, saved by a stranger who witnessed her undergo a physical transformation. That's not the only thing that's different. Zoë is unable to control an unexplainable energy coursing through her body.
Justus De Gradi is a man who can teach her that control. He's handsome, arrogant, and not entirely human. He reveals that she is a Mage - an immortal made of light, not magic. She must now make a choice: Rebuild her life in the human world with the man who saved her, or live with Justus and learn how to use her extraordinary gifts. Justus has sworn an oath to protect her life, but can he guard her from the one man who has a right to claim it?

Silver
The start was promising but it got tedious and slow till the last few chapters. i might buy the next book just to see what happens to Adam. Nicole Poole have the huskiest voice ever and i enjoyed her portrayals of each characters but mostly Simon she has a smashing English accent :)

Story line a little uneven
I wanted to like this but found the story at times trite and rehashed from stories I've read before. Not a fan of societal condoned brutality and it was not particularly well written in this instance. Perhaps the storyline improves through the series but not enough here to tempt me further.

Loved reading, and now listening to this book
I read this series a few years ago and loved it. Fortunately this book was expertly narrated, so I enjoyed the story once again.
This author and narrator combo is a favourite 😊
