Witness the epic final chapter of the Skywalker saga with the official novelization of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, including expanded scenes and additional content not seen in theaters!
The Resistance has been reborn. The spark of rebellion is rekindling across the galaxy. But although Rey and her fellow heroes are back in the fight, the war against the First Order, now led by Supreme Leader Kylo Ren, is far from over.
Rey, Finn, Poe, and the Resistance must embark on the most perilous adventure they have ever faced. And this time, they’re facing it together. With the help of old friends, new allies, and the mysterious guidance of the Force, the story that began in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and continued in Star Wars: The Last Jedi reaches an astounding conclusion.

Better than the movie?
Plugs a lot of potholes, without being overt with the answers to a few lingering questions, that are better off unanswered...
I cried, okay? I cried!

Better than the actual film
Thompson’s narration combined with Carson’s writing made TROS better on paper than on screen. I recommend it to any Star Wars fan, even sequel skeptics

A well read, entertaining Star War
As it's title suggests, this book greatly expands upon the story beats that made it into the final theatrical cut of TROS, while also replacing a number of scenes that were left on the cutting room floor that are in my opinion all crucial to the narrative flow of the story. As such it's about as close as we'll ever get to how the story looked when Abrams & Terrio were happy with it. For this alone it is a must read for anyone left wanting by the movie.
I enjoyed listening to Marc Thompson's read as I totally appreciate the amount of enthusiasm he throws into giving each character's voice recognisable nuances that makes conversations flow without having to constantly throw "...said so and so's" in the middle of the dialogue.
All in all a well read, entertaining Star War. Probably not the jaw dropping finale to the Skywalker Saga that we were all hoping for, but it's the one we got, and this is far and away the most comprehensive version of it available for us to enjoy.

Essential companion to the film
Much like the "Catalyst" prequel novel and the novelization of "Rogue One", this adds vital context and information to the story of Episode 9 which I feel is essential to fully experience the complete story of "The Rise of Skywalker". You could argue that some of this back story should have been present in the film and I certainly wouldn't disagree but it's here nonetheless and together with the film this forms a complete picture which actually greatly enhanced my enjoyment of the film. Marc Thompson is great as always and embodies each character beautifully, particularly the Emperor.

Star Wars Rise of Skywalker was enjoyable overall
Star Wars Rise of Skywalker was enjoyable overall. Narrator was brilliant. Story was ok. I've been a fan since the original, it's a shame that Disney didn't keep with George Lucas' vision

I Love Rey Skywalker!
Wow, this was a great book! I loved getting some glimpses of Leia's training! The sibling rivalry between them was so funning to read. I was imagining Luke comparing everything to what he did on Dagoba! Ha.
There were also so many moments in this novelisation that broke my heart. This book puts so much more meaning into a story I already know so well. I am happy I read it and recommend picking this one up.
