When the Jedi Order falls, the Inquisitors rise.
From the aftermath of Order 66 comes a new group of former Jedi, each with their own reason to serve the Empire under Darth Vader. Among them is Iskat, who survived the destruction of her old Order to claim a new destiny in the Force. Iskat joins the Inquisitors in the hope of uncovering her hidden past that the Jedi refused to share with her.

Great Story Doomed From the Start
This book does everything right when establishing a character. It introduces them, grows them over time. Upon finishing my read, its quite obvious that the protagonist was not the same character at the end of the book as she was at the start.
The narrator was amazing and she did excellent voices, her Darth Vader couldv been better but thats ok!
The journey the characters went on was a fun one and the development they all had to go through was rivetting.
Character development and a good story are key to writing a good book... however:
Spoiler Warning
[[[[This book had an ending long before the book even released. Iskats story ended in a Vader comic book to which the author retold the same events in the epilogue. Sure the journey along the way was a grand adventure but the thought always loomed over me... i knew how the story ended already. And it honestly sucked. I truly wish the author picked an unknown inquisitor or made a new one up for this story because it was very distracting and ultimately ruined a lot of the storyline.]]]]]
Nevertheless i would still recommend it.

Ambitious the writer is, right to be she was.
I think the content warning at the start primed me for a more mature, thoughtful glimpse into the Star Wars universe - and boy did it pay dividends.
I found myself relating to the struggles of the main character to fit in the world she found herself in, which might say something more about me as much as the book, but still... Looking in at the workings of the Jedi from an outsiders perspective with so much focus on inner-life was wonderful. That inner screaming 'if you'd just listen to her!' throughout.
Honestly, I hope future Star Wars installments (looking at you, Rey sequel) ask the same questions about the Jedi order and its tenets as Iskat did! More of this mature storytelling, please.
Could still do without the SFX though.

Honestly amazing, I’m very impressed
I have not written any reviews on any Star Wars book I love them all the world that has been created around Star Wars is magnificent and this book was perfectly in line with that magnificence, getting to see Iskat grow and realise the Jedi weren’t what they had seemed and then to see her rise through the ashes of the republic in the ranks of the inquisitors to challenge and be a formidable opponent against Darth Vader, this book is great highly recommend reading

That epilogue…
Written beautifully, the mistakes and flaws of the main character rings true of my own coming of age. Perhaps, because of that shared truth, with all its petulance and arrogance, Iskat’s mistakes had me feeling empathy for her despite her viciousness and cruelty.

Exceptional content
Absolute quality content. It stands out from a lot of the more recent literature from the Star Wars universe in its depth of world building within a world which it’s readers are already attached.
Loved the tie in with existing content, it was done really well and didn’t damage existing characters but built on them and gave a deeper perspective and another view of them.
This is what Star Wars literature is supposed to be. Development and augmentation of the universe that it’s fan base know and love.

Very enjoyable original story
Fantastic performance the only downside however was low quality voice effects. Would 100% recommend to any Star Wars prequel fans!
