About this listen
The next thrilling installment in the Timber Creek K-9 mysteries.
When Deputy Ken Brody's sweetheart goes missing in the mountains outside Timber Creek, Mattie Cobb and her K-9 partner Robo are called to search. But it's mid-October and a dark snow storm is brewing over the high country. And they're already too late. By the time they find her body, the storm has broken and the snow is coming down hard.
While Brody hikes down to bring back the forensics team and veterinarian Cole Walker gathers supplies to protect them from the storm, Mattie and Robo find themselves alone, guarding the gravesite overnight in the dead of the early winter. And that's only the first long, dark night in a series of them, because as their investigation develops, Mattie, Robo, Brody, and Cole find themselves in the middle of the killer's stalking ground - where the hunters become the hunted.
An engrossing listen filled with tension, excitement, and heart, Stalking Ground, the second in Margaret Mizushima's lauded debut series, will send a chill down every listener's spine.

Brilliant little mysteries from the K9 series. interesting and easy to follow from start to finish. Beautifully narrated and written.

Enjoyable Read
Love how fast paced the story is however the story was a little too short for my liking. Really enjoyed learning about canine behaviour and the dark side of horse racing.

Easy Listening
This is the second book in the series I’ve listened to. Thoroughly enjoy the adventures of Robo, his handler Mattie Cobb and the rugged Colorado mountain setting. The narrator is great.

Love this series and this book doesn’t disappoint
A romance is about to bloom, hope I can find the next book in the series without jumping some. Always love to hear about Robo and his characteristics. Enjoy the narration and the series in general.

This series has me hooked!
More of the vet, horses this time, and the deputy Mattie and her dog Robo, tracking down in winter in the mountains the murderer of a police colleague's girlfriend.
Vivid setting, and nicely evolving storyline, perfect light listening, and starting to hint at the unhappy childhood of Mattie inhibiting her potential happiness in the present (with the vet obviously, so let's hope we don't descend into cliche and stereotype!). Just finished no. 3 so still hooked!

Disappointing second book
I really liked the first book in this series, finding Maddie and Robo an interesting duo. However, in this one Maddie has turned into a total sap, giving the obnoxious Brodie leeway that could damage the investigation and the safety of the team. Still, I'd be willing to try for better in the next book if the author wasn't forcing the worst boyfriend in the world on Maddie, in the form of the vapid vet. I just can't stand to read any more about this lazy loser. He just drifts along, hoping his problems will magically disappear because it's too hard to confront anything or even try to think about a solution. And when he's given good advice he resists it, probably because he'd have to actually do something to follow it. In the first book he seemed to be a competent vet, at least, but in this one he's so narrow-minded that he just keeps treating symptoms instead of searching harder for a diagnosis. Maddie deserves and needs better than this guy who has already driven one wife away and who seems bent on turning his lovely older daughter into a troubled tearaway.
