About this listen
When Killian Barth, history professor, meets Blaine Genneau, quantum physicist, they ignite their own big bang. But Killian can't pursue a physics professor - or a human. As the most powerful male witch in 10 generations, Killian must bolster his dying race by reproducing - despite the fact that he's gay.
Even a fling with Blaine is out of the question, because Killian has been told sex with humans drains his power. But if that's true, why can young human Jimmy Janx dissolve spoons with the power of his mind? If Killian can sort through the lies he's been fed, he'll still face his biggest obstacle - convincing rational scientist Blaine to believe in magic.
With his ancient and powerful cat familiar, Aloysius, on his shoulder, Killian brings the lightning against deceit and greed to save Blaine from danger and prove love is the greatest power of them all.
Contains mature themes.

what does killian want?
Spell cat by Tara lain. Killian pushed into a position in his world that he didn't want. All he wanted was to be loved and himself and just be him. But due to responsibilities imposed on him by his mother, he never thought he had a choice.
But due to a beautiful stubborn black cat, he began to understand the world and his position in it and realised he could have more than just what he had been told all his life.
Loved the characters and story and cannot wait for the next in the series

Fun urban fantasy romance!
Dr Killian Barth lectures on the history of witchcraft and has a very intelligent cat, so it’s probably no surprise he’s also the witch master. What is surprising is that he’s falling for Blaine, a cute physics professor, when he’s already promised to a powerful witch by their families. I adore fun urban fantasy mm romances and the audiobook is narrated by the wonderful Kirt Graves so this really worked for me. Great story and nice MCs, but what I loved most was the humour and the ensemble cast - this is told in 3rd person omniscient so I got insight into lots of the characters, while concentrating on Killian. Aloysius, the title character, is Killian’s familiar and he steals the show a lot of the time, but unlike every other witch story I’ve read, he’s refreshingly not warm and fluffy. I’m really looking forward to the rest of this series and others by this author!

Stop talking about your cats balls
It was a pretty good book apart from the fact that he kept mentioning his cats balls and how big they were AND got horny when the love interest was rubbing the cats belly and got close to the cats balls wtf do you meannnnnnn!
He also kept calling women females especially violent or lavender whatever her name was he also called her a meddling female which is fucked. it would have been alright if they did the thing that witches weren’t men or women so those words were used but they didn’t that’s just what the character called women. Sexism isn’t ok just bc you’re gay you don’t get a pass to say whatever you want. Also when they were talking about his students he said the girls in the class were there bc they think he’s hot and the boys are curious and probably witches he didn’t say it in so many words but that’s the vibe also when an explanation of what a character looked like came up the men’s ones were normal but the woman’s were weird af especially his students it was literally like she had brown hair and huge tits like how is that information we needed to know
The ending also felt rushed but other than ALL of that it was a good book I don’t know if it’s worth buying but if it’s free ide recommend it it had its charm
Tw for sexual assault the narrator makes it easier to listen too bc he didn’t talk in a serious tone but you can skip the whole part and still understand the rest of the book the only thing you learn from the sene is that his hair is personal to him ( it’s never mentioned again so it’s useless information ) and we understand just how much he wants to be in love. That sene happens the when he gives that bdsm guy a second chance when they get back to his house so skip from when they’re in the house. Be safe

Everyone is Al’s best friend
This was an enjoyable listen. A different take on witches trying to takeover the world, willing to reduce their power rather than mix species.
Killian despite being a master witch was very indecisive at times and the incidents with Moran should have been cut short as soon as they started. Surely the most powerful witch wouldn’t have put up with what was happening.
Al was a great character and it was evident he was more than just a cat. I would have liked to find out how Blaine could always see him though as it was never answered.
