About this listen

The villagers of Bishop’s Lacey are holding their collective breath as St Tancred’s tomb in the local church is about to be opened after five hundred years. Inveterate eleven-year-old sleuth Flavia de Luce is first at the scene, but the body she finds lying there is not that of a desiccated saint; it is Mr Collicutt, St Tancred's celebrated organist.

Wizard chemist strikes again!

I adore the intricacies of Flavia's investigations: the chemistry, the ancient text, history and musical score, the botany and fabulous descriptions of people and places. Alan Bradley is a master of the literary canvas. Thank you Mr Bradley for the joy of listening to your wonderful books brought to vibrant life thru the voices of a very talented Sophie Aldred.
