Publisher's Summary
Kallie
I fell in love with him when I was seven. I scraped my knee, and he helped carry me inside. Our love story was the talk of the town until a woman told everyone she was pregnant with his baby. The only rational solution was to high-tail it out of town and never come back.
My best friend needed a place to hide, and you can’t get much more covert than my family farm, so I came back. For her. It was supposed to be temporary, and I wasn’t supposed to see him, but that’s what happens when you live in a small town where everyone knows each other.
Jacob
Being the sheriff in a small town was never my dream. My father died and my older brother took off, so I had to be the one to look after my mother. I stayed. I fulfilled my duties as a son and I protected my hometown.
My life wasn’t perfect, but I was content - until I locked eyes with a ghost from my past, Kallie. I thought it was my imagination; it couldn’t be her. I loved her most of my life, but now I hated her.
The town gossip mill was going into overdrive. I kept my head down and my mind off of the woman who shattered my heart when she ran away. She didn’t give me a chance to explain; it didn’t matter to her then. I didn’t matter.
A second chance is never promised, but now that mine is right under my nose, I’m not sure I can take it.

AMAZING
I listened to the sample of this book and knew I wanted to get it. This is almost like a full-on second chance romance, made to make you wish your love in your future could be that everlasting and happy ending. The blurb of this book does say that they hate each other but it is not hate that lashes out, so this is really just a romance book. Having said that, nothing is just a romance book, this was an awesome read/listen and one that definitely reaches my favourites. I don't always read gooey romances, but this was definitely a good book, even if it is not your normal read, but you have been thinking about reading a romance, this is a good book to try. If you read the blurb and are a bit unsure, listen to the audiobook sample and see if you like it, even if you aren't going to listen to it and want to read it instead, it is still something that will help you decide whether you want to read this book or not. The narration in this book was also amazing and definitely helped keep me in the headspace where I remembered that the characters were southern. I definitely enjoyed reading/listening to this book and hope you do too.

Loved this book
Another great book by Natasha Madison although I kind of wish Savanna got her comeuppance and there was more grovelling from Jacob. Still hoping the truth comes out, it just wasn’t enough after everything Callie went through.

Wow
So enjoyed this story of a second chance. Their love was timeless. Everything fell into place once all the secrets were told.
Narration was amazing.

Underwhelming.
Not enough depth to it which ruins the main storyline. Mostly it needed to go into more detail of why he made such a massive decision just on the spot like that and why it would be so disastrous for the truth to be told.... What was given in the story just doesn't make it believable

Too unbelievable and shallow
I’m the first to admit I love chic lit and romance novels. I was so disappointed reading this book. It lacks depth in the story and the characters and the story lines are just unbelievable and I couldn’t connect.
I spent most of my time predicting the next part and honestly, rolling my eyes.
I wish I could return and get my credit back.

quite dull and tormented
A dull, tormented novel that doesn't bother to take advantage of the mystery/suspense elements or forgets to deal with them. Most of the books seems to be repetitively stated feelings of angst and lust. The narrators were excellent though! It's so nice to come across narrators who don't sound like teenagers or grandparents. I would listen to them narrate something again.
