Publisher's Summary

Alone. Powerless. Human.

Tendira is a world of beastly shifters and deadly monsters…except me, the human queen.

When my home is taken over by an angry pack who wants me dead, I'm forced to run, so I go to the one place my attackers won't dare follow: the Blood Pack.

But the Blood Alpha watches his territory more closely than I imagined. His people catch me and drag me to their capital. Instead of killing me, they decide to keep me.

The problem? They have no idea who I am.

Now if I want to stay alive, I have to make the most ruthless pack in Tendira believe I'm one of them. That plan goes surprisingly well...until the Alpha decides he wants me as his mate.

I'm a human pretending to be a shifter, a queen pretending to be powerless, and a woman pretending not to fall in love with the deadliest shifter that's ever existed.

I'll die if I go back to my castle, but if the Blood Pack discovers my lies, I'll suffer a fate far worse than death. With my survival on the line, I can't afford to lose anything to the Blood Alpha—especially my heart.

Brilliant work

Loved everything about this story the only thing that I would have liked more is the duel narration to extend throughout however I’m being fussy as the female narration was extremely engaging. Off to read book 2!

First and Definitely Not My Last Shifter Romance!

I devoured this whole book in one go, and I am going to buy book two as soon as I've finished this review.

I occasionally struggle with the first book in a series for fantasy/pnr because they can sometimes feel like more of world building textbooks than character or plot driven storylines. So I really appreciated the way that the world and character backstories were woven into dialogue and inner monolgue in a way that felt organic and didn't mess with the pace of the story.

The fmc and mmc had banter and chemistry, but also secrets and forces beyond their control, driving them apart. This book set up such a good landscape for the rest of the series, and I'm really excited to see where she takes these characters and the future of their world.

(The narrator Amber Lee Connors was emotive and easy to listen to, and the surprise chapter from Tim Cambell has me crossing my fingers for more in book two!)
