Good story, narration lets it down

I enjoyed the story, although a couple of things seemed a little silly like the main characters health issue (vampirism) being real but the boyfriends monthly transformation into a bear is somehow unbelievable to her.
The narration is a major issue- every sentence dramatic- like even a mundane description of something is stilted to induce drama. Often the wrong words have emphasis put on them.
The characters voices are good though.
Overall it was great to have the book on while doing household tasks, and the story was very easy to follow. Easy listening, good for background noise.
