About this listen
A magical house. A secret past. A summons that could change everything.
This is the hugely-anticipated sequel to TJ Klune's The House in the Cerulean Sea, a cosy-fantasy triumph and a New York Times bestseller.
Arthur Parnassus has built a good life on the ashes of a bad one. He’s headmaster at an orphanage for magical children, on a peculiar island, assisted by love-of-his-life Linus Baker. And together, they’ll do anything to protect their extraordinary and powerful charges.
However, when Arthur is forced to make a public statement about his dark past, he finds himself fighting for those under his care. It’s also a fight for the better future that all magical people deserve. Then when a new magical child joins their island home, Arthur knows they’ve reached breaking point. The child finds power in calling himself a monster, a name Arthur has tried so hard to banish to protect his children. Challenged from within and without, their volatile family might grow stronger. Or everything Arthur loves could fall apart.
Somewhere Beyond the Sea is a story of resistance, lovingly told, about the daunting experience of fighting for the life you want to live and doing the work to keep it.

The performance does this beautiful story justice
This story is a perfect sequel to The House on the Cerulean Sea. It is so wholesome and I will listen to it again and again when I need to feel that the world is a little brighter.
The performance is just brilliant and gives such life and heart to the characters.

Breathtakingly gorgeous
This book, as well as the first one, will bring you to tears, laughter and joy. Each of the characters have so many dimensions and you fall in love with each and every one for different reasons. I love that characters who were closed minded and afraid in the first book can now be considered ally’s and friends, and how hopeful a message that sends.

What an absolute JOY!💕
I love this book so much…what a delight to return to the island in the cerulean sea, and visit again with all the wonderful characters. It’s the perfect follow up to the first book, and if you enjoyed that one, you’ll love book 2 as much as me..

I was so looking forward to this sequel and it didn’t disappoint.
What a continuation of an amazing story about love and family.
The narration yet again was epic.
So sad I’ve finished this so quickly. Hopefully there is another book!!!

JUST A JOY
As good, if not better than the first. This book is a warm hug of joy and happiness, with a very clear, strong message about hatred and division, and overcoming it.
The first few chapters in, I was back on Marsyus and in love with the beautiful characters and their adventures and wisdom. So beautifully written, and brilliantly narrated. There can be no other Chauncey for me than Daniel Henning 🤣❤️
Thank you TJ Klune. This is everything one could hope for in a sequel. It was a joy ❤️❤️

Sweet, beautiful, heartwarming.
Loved the story! Was everything I hoped the sequel would be! But I was disappointed by the narration, they frequently used the wrong voice for lines, making things harder to understand, and Zoe, Linus, and Arthur basically all had the same voice by the end.

Love
Another beautiful story with lovable characters. I always finish the books of TJ Klune smiling but also a little sad that I am farewelling the wonderful world he created. All you need is love and acceptance. If only it was that easy. Will there be a book on an older Lucie?
