Publisher's Summary
Thursday Next, Head of JurisFiction and ex-SpecOps agent, returns to her native Swindon accompanied by a child of two, a pair of dodos and Hamlet, who is on a fact-finding mission in the real world.
Thursday has been despatched to capture escaped Fictioneer Yorrick Kaine but even so, now seems as good a time as any to retrieve her husband Landen from his state of eradication at the hands of the Chronoguard.
It’s not going to be easy. Thursday’s former colleagues at the department of Literary Detectives want her to investigate a spate of cloned Shakespeares, the Goliath Corporation are planning to switch to a new Faith based corporate management system and the Neanderthals feel she might be the Chosen One who will lead them to genetic self-determination.
With help from Hamlet, her uncle and time-travelling father, Thursday faces the toughest adventure of her career. Where is the missing President-for-life George Formby? Why is it imperative for the Swindon Mallets to win the World Croquet League final? And why is it so difficult to find reliable childcare?

fantastic ride
New narrator takes some getting used to, but one that had leveled out it was the usual riveting ride.

Surprisingly emotional
This installment in the Thursday Next story surprised me. it's got some very tough moments in it, and a lot of heart. It's still also whacky and hilarious, but a bit deeper, more mature than the earlier installments. Keep a hanky handy.

Amusing, charming & suprising as always.
Lots of wonderful plot lines to follow along with in this delightfully absurdist and suprising emotional installment of the Thursday next series.

Story great - But WHY change the narrator??
Just like when buying books and one book in the series has a cover that doesn't match, this series of audio books has one book read by a different narrator. Why??
The story was great, many different plot arcs that all came together in the end, for the kind of finish that means you can't get out of the car until it's over.
But the narrator seriously impacted my enjoyment. She pronounced words and names differently than Kruger (her predecessor) which was really annoying, and I disliked her voices for the characters. Her pacing was also a little odd at times with weird sentence flow. I found myself just reading to get through it - at the same time as enjoying the story - just so I could get to the next book that has Kruger narrating again.

enchanting and original
Thursday Next has become my role model. What a wonderful lead character. An original storyline with lots of chuckles. It's an extremely well written series.
