About this listen

I met Alessandra at a party. Tried to impress her. Was almost positive I was going to fail.

I think I said something along the lines of, “I’m a Goat called Fish who’s hung like a bull - but not really. I’m actually pretty average.” Smooth. I know. Try not to be jealous.

When she laughed - and I mean, really laughed - I knew she wasn’t like the other girls I’d been meeting on tour. Hell, she wasn’t even in the same stratosphere as those fangirls and gold-diggers.

At one point during the party, Alessandra said, “There’s nothing like a girl’s first love.” I knew she was talking about the first smash hit by my band, 22 Goats. Alessandra said it was the first song she’d heard by us and it “hit her like a ton of bricks”. Ironic, seeing as how I was having the same reaction from being in her presence.

I made it my mission to impress her. Give her the kiss of a lifetime that night. But since I’ve always been the dude with zero game, nothing went according to plan.

I’m not giving up, though. I’m going to win this girl over. I’m done sitting on the sidelines, watching the bad boy getting the girl. This time, the nice guy will finish first. Even if it’s the last thing he’ll do.

totally smitten with this book

This is one of the sweetest, loveliest, romantic, swoon-worthy,and charming love story I have read. I loved that there was no drama in the storyline, just two wonderful people falling in love and finding themselves and what's important to them in the process. Loved that the audio version included some songs. Truly excellent. Loved loved loved it!

love love love

I have listened to so many audio books with rockstars lately and though it would be cool to hear the music but understood the extra production costs. I was pleasantly surprise music and singing was included in this story, it really enhanced the listening experience. tanks for goimg the extra mile, you guys rocked it!

Loved loved loved!

After reading every book in the Faraday/Morgan/Rivers collection this didn’t disappoint and I’m left with that empty feeling after being so immersed in a book world!
Please tell me Colins book is next? 🙏🏼

Loved Getting Smitten

What a great journey this book was. I enjoyed every minute of Fish & Alessandra's story. It was funny, romantic, low on drama, and I loved the addition of the live music. I listened in one setting I could not put it down!

I know this book is marketed as a standalone but I can honestly say I feel I got a much richer experience because I knew the many secondary characters, and was familiar with the meaning and lyrics behind the bands earlier songs. I would suggest pairing this read with at the least 'Rockstar' and then the 'Liar' series if you can but I can equally see that you could still enjoy the book without them.

Jeepers Lauren Rowe can write! I found the pace of this book perfect, it never felt rushed or drawn out. There were some larger than I'm used to time jumps and who know's maybe these gaps will be filled with 'Colin's' story (fingers crossed).

One of my biggest Lauren Rowe loves from her last few books has been not rushing the ending. The last 1 1/2 hours was dedicated to the HEA, I really appreciated it...nothing worse then a heap of drama and build up and then 10 minutes of HEA.

I can't wait for her next book!

My first Lauren Rowe book and I’m hooked.

This book came up in a recommendation list and I took a chance and listened to it on Audible. I think it was a soft sweet kind of romance and so easy to listen to. I was so excited to actually hear singing and songs on the audio book. It said it was a stand alone but I’ve discovered previous books with all the characters from this book and a website with songs and video clips. I was so excited 😆 I’ve just downloaded all the other books and I’m in for a marathon. I really enjoyed this book.

a chore

the preview of this sounded promising but there really is nothing substantial about this book and I started feeling like it was a chore

Diabetic

*gag*. I had to quit after 5 hours, it was so non-stop, sickly sweet. Sorry, but I hated it. Nothing but two kids in the throes of first love. I am going to assume (hope) something more interesting is going to happen during the rest of the book, but I won’t invest any more time in it to find out.
Great performances by both narrators.
