About this listen
The fight against terrorism never ends, and Dan 'Spider' Shepherd is in the front line of Britain's defence against the extremists.
When an ISIS bombmaker arrives at Heathrow Airport asking for asylum in exchange for revealing details of his paymasters, Shepherd is given the case. The bombmaker specialises in drone strikes, and homegrown jihadists that he has trained are already back in the UK, planning their attacks. But before he'll agree to talk, the terrorist insists that his wife and son are rescued from a refugee camp in Turkey. Shepherd is tasked with bringing the family back to London, but he soon discovers that dark forces are out to stop him. And if he fails, hundreds will die.

SPOILT BY THE AUDIBLE PRESENTATION
Enjoyed the story, but felt the audible performance was spoilt by the narrator appearing to suffer from a COPD condition - unnecessary pauses throughout the entire presentation!

Great
As always Stephen Leather is brilliant. I have become a avid reader of all his books.

My favourite narrator took too many gulps and swallows
Paul Thornley is my favourite narrator of Stephen Leathers Dan Shepphard stories but in this one he sounded like he had a cold or dry mouth, lots of gulps and salivation noises - a little off putting but he still does the voices brilliantly and it is a great story.

Disappointing
The story had significant holes but the main problem was the narrator. He generated as much excitment and tension as reading a text book. He paused between each sentence for 2-3 secs completely destroying the rhythm of the text.
As for the story, a major terror threat for London and a only few people were working on it.
The main character was followed on board a plane and when this was discovered, ne of the worlds leading intelligence organisations didn’t think to check the passenger lists or CCTV footage. They just wondered who it might be. One of the many, many holes in a very average story.
