Publisher's Summary
Featuring a conversation with the authors!
In a spectacular father/son collaboration like no other, Stephen King and Owen King tell the highest of high-stakes stories: what might happen if women disappeared from the world of men?
In a future so real and near it might be now, something happens when women go to sleep: they become shrouded in a cocoon-like gauze. If they are awakened, if the gauze wrapping their bodies is disturbed or violated, the women become feral and spectacularly violent, and while they sleep they go to another place....
The men of our world are abandoned, left to their increasingly primal devices. One woman, however, the mysterious Evie, is immune to the blessing or curse of the sleeping disease. Is Evie a medical anomaly to be studied? Or is she a demon who must be slain?
Set in a small Appalachian town whose primary employer is a women's prison, Sleeping Beauties is a wildly provocative, gloriously absorbing father/son collaboration between Stephen King and Owen King.

god I hope this gets some sort of sequel.
Fantastic job by Marin!
It almost always seems that even Stephen King doesn't want to finish his books because of his gift and love to show us into new worlds, another great story with a fall flat ending.
I hope that this perhaps gets a sequel because this is now up there with my favorites.

Impostor book
I'm a huge fan of King's work - everything from his early works to Mr Mercedes series I've read or listened to over the years. I've pre-ordered this book almost a year earlier counting days to its release in anticipation....5 hours into it o just had to stop. The book lacks King's magic - purpose, wittiness, character development, atmosphere. I couldn't continue with it because it's really not his work. I'm sure he has given his name to help his kid get audience. That's pretty much all you'd get from it - his name on the title. Oh well, there is always the next one I suppose

Great Book
Really great book. Awesome narrator. The story was very engaging and certainly highlights the mess that men have made of the world. I know if I was in the same position the women were in and had to choose between staying and coming back I might have just stayed.

I enjoyed it
Narrator was great, excepting her Australian accent. The story felt like a good Stephen King book. Not one of the greatest but like an Under The Dome or Needful Things.

pretty good
The story was interesting and well written. Lagged a few times and there was times it got a little boring.
The Southern accent was really annoying - maybe because I'm not use to it.

It's okay.
I was very excited about this book. In the end I just wasn't a fan. It seemed very forced and didn't have any characters or moments that will stick with you.

Sleeping Beautiies
The speaking performance for this book by Marin Ireland was fantastic, I particularly liked her "Angel" character.
Great story, although slow in some parts. The detailed descriptions of the emissaries (animals) was very good. I also enjoyed that it doesn't get tied up in a beat bow for all the characters in the end.

I loved it!
Great story, I couldn't stop listening! Plenty of moments that made me pull a face and it kept my interest until the very end.

Almost...
Sleeping Beauties falls short of being a very good book. The story is great and the characters generally fine, while not all that intriguing outside of the main few, but the novel settles for a field goal and is unable to get the touchdown.
