About this listen

This Sky Brooks bundle includes books one through four.

Moon Tortured: The Midwest Pack has three goals: Protect the pack. Protect the pack. And yeah, protect the pack. I have my own goal: Live a simple life and hope no one ever discovers that the quiet young woman next door turns into a wolf.

Darkness Unchained: Just survive. That's been my goal since uncovering a dangerous secret: I died at birth and became host to a very powerful spirit shade. Now I have the rare ability to manipulate magic - an ability some would kill for.

Midnight Falls: My life will never be simple again. As a werewolf who is a host to a powerful spirit shade, I possess the ability to manipulate magic, among other things - and that means I have many enemies. In need of allies, I join the Midwest Pack.

Lunar Marked: The Midwest Pack used the Clostra to perform a powerful and dangerous spell to save me. Now the pack is dealing with the aftermath and doing damage control. But they can't hide how the magic has changed the dynamics of the otherworld - or that they are responsible.

Interesting storyline involving the magical powers.

I was intrigued by the idea of the main character of sky. Hard to characterise but overall interesting story.

Engaging

Finally a werewolf story where the main female character isn’t sleeping her way across the countryside. It is actually about werewolves vampires and other things that go bump in the night. It’s not a new story but it’s engaging and pleasant to listen too.

Great characters and continuing twists and turns in the story.

I like the humour and sarcasm of the protagonist. The character is brought nicely to life by the performer. It has a vampire diaries feel to this but I think more engaging as it's less about love stories and more about the world of the supernatural. I have 3 critiques on this series... First although I enjoy the performer .. in book one for most of it she sounds like she has a cold as the speech is very nasally and makes me want to blow my nose! props to her for doing it as well as she did if she did have a cold though... Second is the sound engineering for the audio is inconsistent and the levels and sound changes often throughout. Third is the writers repeated and I feel misplaced use of the word 'stoicism. Stoicism is misunderstood as a philosophy but also as a definition. There is a difference between Stocism and stocism depending on the capital letter. However neither means being without emotions, in incapable of feeling them, it's more about not showing and remains calm and enduring situations and handling them without emotion. Anyway it just irritated me a little but that's about it. Otherwise great story!

ummm what

ok I'm really confused about the reviews on this series. it was really disjointed and hard to follow. lots of chapters left me extremely confused until it was shown that the perspective had changed to a different character. honestly it's kinda irritating and a waist of time. give it a go if U have time to kill and no other books in mind but otherwise definitely not up to par with the expected standard on audible.
