About this listen

Books 4, 5 and 6 in the SKULDUGGERY PLEASANT series – known collectively as TTHE DEATH BRINGER TRILOGY, Derek Landy's fantastically imaginative series about our favourite dead detective.

DARK DAYS
Skulduggery Pleasant is lost on the other side of a portal, with only some evil gods for company. Can he possibly survive? (Yes, all right, he’s already dead. But still.)

MORTAL COIL
Skulduggery Pleasant and Valkyrie Cain are back – just in time to see their whole world get turned upside down…

DEATH BRINGER
The Necromancers no longer need Valkyrie to be their Death Bringer, and that’s a good thing. There’s just one catch…

Bring back Robert Degas

Book 4 is far too much fun with usual crowd of characters brought to life by the brilliant of Robert Degas :-)
Book 5 is mangled by the narrator, turning the characters in to cardboard cutouts.
Book 6 has yet another narrator mangling the mangled, the original cast of characters has replaced.

Bussin

My favorite book to listen to. The story is nail biting and page turning, even though it’s a audiobook.
I don’t know why you all have so much hate for Stephen hogan, he still has amazing fluency and ability to speak in different accents.
Anyway, a great and entertaining story, you will not regret listening to this🤗.

Best book series! Read exactly how I thought most characters sounded

Great stuff even though readers changed they managed to keep similar voices for most characters

Great book, but gaps keep appearing

I love the series, and have had each physical copy as it releases since book one.
However, in the reading there are several gaps that will appear mid sentence, more so in (this trilogies) book 2 than book 1, which is generally at a climax, missing a lot of the detail and restarting at the resolution.
Having the physical copies to refer to makes it less difficult but still mildly annoying to find what is missed, but nearing the climax of the second you miss entire scenes.
Otherwise, great series, and great Audio Books.

SP 4-6

Decent, although the narration confusion was off putting.
Sometimes the character’s voices and dialogues got mixed up, honest mistake, not professional though, plus it should have been easy to hear if the creator’s where actually listening to what they were reading.
Also book 6 goes a bit off rails, but like THATS gonna stop me continuing.

Skulduggery

Great story well told. Annoying that chapter headings in a compilation recording dont indicate actual chapters or start of the new book.

More Pleasant adventures.

Another great series of adventures. All the narrators do a good job but I personally prefer the stories narrated by Robert Degas. I love how the characters are flawed so you can love them, hate them and identify with them all at the same time.

Great…

Like all of Derek Landy’s other books and audiobooks, this book is sooooo good. Saddest part was definitely how Tesseract’s death and how he has a cat. :(
