Stephen King
About this listen
Hold tight. We are going into a number of dark places, but I think I know the way. Just don't let go of my arm....
Unrivalled master of suspense Stephen King takes the unsuspecting listener on a fantastic journey through the dark shadows of our innermost fears.
Do the dead sing?
In this bumper collection of chilling tales, which includes the brilliant story adapted into the acclaimed movie The Mist, we meet a woman who has never crossed The Reach, the water dividing her from the mainland; a grandma who only wants to hug little George, even after she is dead; an innocent looking toy with sinister powers; and a primeval sea creature with an insatiable appetite.
Narrated by Stephen King, Matthew Broderick, Michael C. Hall, Paul Giamatti, Will Patton, Norbert Leo Butz, Lois Smith, Dylan Baker, Kyle Beltran, Dana Ivey, Robert Petkoff, David Morse, and Frances Sternhagen.

Loved it
Loved it. The narrators all did a brilliant job though Mr King not so much. His talent definitely lies in the writing of the tale but I did still enjoy his narration.

did not finish some stories, others were great!
I didn't finish all the stories because either they were too boring or I just couldn't connect with them. Many others were awesome....!

Mr King is the king for a reason.
This was a marvellous collection of short stories. As per usual King brings you into his world and leaves you thinking about it the rest of the day. I listened to one per day and I most enjoyed Michael C Hall’s story toward the end.

Patton + King = perfect audiobook
A good story can be ruined by a poorly matched narrator. This manages to find the perfect narrator for each story. As always, King masters the short story format, taking us on a fast ride but somehow not feeling rushed. I loved this collection and feel it was really well done as an audiobook.

Only one that was really enjoyable
I would have returned the book if not because some of the stories were good. I should have known that short stories are just that and left me wanting. However, Stephen King is the master story teller and I should have stuck with full length books by him.

Average. Wouldn't recommend.
Couldn't get through it. The mist was the only decent story. I'd recommend passing on this and grabbing the mist separately.

oh Stephen, please stop stuffing up.
Stephen King is a masreful writer, but ye gods he must MUST stop reading his stories. Stephen, please stop. Just stop. By all means keep writing, but freaking STOP READING your stories. You're just awful. Terrible. Listen to how Paul Giamati reads - that was bloody AMAZING. I was always a fan of Paul Giamati, and now I realise he's got more strings to his bow. Matthew Broderick, also brilliant. But you, Stephen, mate, you've got to know your limitations. You've got to take those few moments to churn out another five or six novels... But FOR THE LOVE OF GOD STOP READING YOUR STORIES.
