About this listen

A Gotrek & Felix novel

Between adventures and desperate for money, Gotrek and Felix work as sewerjacks in Nuln. Little do they know that villainous skaven lurk in the darkness, planning to tear down the mighty city....

Listen to it because

It's classic Gotrek and Felix which introduces a threat that will follow them throughout their heroic careers and even threaten Gotrek in his second life in the Mortal Realms: the sinister Grey Seer Thanquol.

The story

Gotrek and Felix: unsung heroes of the Empire or nothing more than common thieves and murderers? The truth perhaps lies somewhere in between and depends entirely upon whom you ask.

Seeking to undermine the very fabric of the Empire with their arcane warp-sorcery, the skaven, twisted Chaos rat-men are at large in the reeking sewers beneath the city. Led by Grey Seer Thanquol, the servants of the Horned Rat are determined to overthrow this bastion of humanity. Against such forces, what possible threat can just two hard-bitten adventurers pose?

the emersice story telling and excellent character development especially the villians

as I said before above Willliam King is just excellent at character development. His characters really just leap from the pages at you, love how everyone is so flawed in his books.

Get in the City Manling, it’s Raki-slaying time!

Keeble once again providing the narration of a saint.
This book takes all the best elements of Book 1 and gives them one large overarching story instead of several short tales, yet STILL includes those smaller tales (just in a fashion that works as part of the greater tale). Highly recommend

Wow! Simply amazing!

What an amazing book with and extraordinary, talented narrator!

I must say the book itself is excellent. But Jonathan Keeble's narration is so amazing that it transported me to Nuln itself.

I highly recommend this book and any other books by William King and any book Narrated by Jonathan Keeble.

Fantasy fun continues

This series is great fun. The volume has plenty of slapstick, funny interactions between antagonists and plenty of action. The author creates a very vivid universe for what was/is a fantastic table top miniature wargame. But don’t let that put you off. If enjoy a fantasy adventure with great characters and adventure that is t too “dark” or too silly then this is worth a easy listen.
I read these books many years ago and Jonathan Keeble does an incredible job getting the voices of Gotrek, Felix and the baddies perfectly. His interpretation of how the Skaven speak is hilarious. His work on the “Under the Eagles” novels makes him perfect for these novels. So thanks for the fun.

Brilliant.

Another brilliant story and the narrator is one of the best employed by the black library definitely a series of stories to listen to.
