Guđmundur Kampans historiske romanepos "Skálholt", der bygger på omfattende arkivstudier, består af fire bind: "Jomfru Ragnheiđur", "Mala Domestica", "Hans Herredom" og "Quod felix ...". Guđmundur Kamban (1888-1945) var en islandsk forfatter og dramatiker. Han debuterede i 1914 med skuespillet "Hadda Padda", men det er først i de følgende år, at hans forfatterevner for alvor træder i kraft. Et hovedværk i forfatterskabet er romaneposet "Skálholt", der udspiller sig i 1600-tallets Island.
