About this listen
This tale of healers with “talents” is the sixth in a series of stories featuring the psychically talented members of the Hyllis family. Hundreds of years after a plague induced apocalypse collapsed civilization back to iron and horsepower, the Hyllises have a genetic tendency to inherit “talents”. Eva Hyllis and her ancestors became healers because their talents let them feel inside their patients. This helps them diagnose the underlying causes of many illnesses. Eva’s children Tarc and Daussie have inherited telekinetic and teleportation talents. Their cousin Kazy’s a telepath. Telekinetic pressure can stop bleeding, teleportation can remove arterial plaques, and telepathy can provide anesthesia and correct psychopathy. In this audiobook, they set out on a treacherous journey to treat Eva’s sister who’s dying of cancer. And they keep finding more conditions that can be treated by their talents.

Change in Narrator is jarring even after finishing
This is an excellent series and is a great book overall. However, the change in Narrator midway through the series is very jarring after having gotten used to the sound of the previous narrator who did an okay job overall. The new narrator is ok too but pronounces a lot of the words very differently. I wasn't all that keen on the previous narrator at the start, he had some strange pronunciations for certain words as is somewhat typical for ppl from the USA. He could not pronounce the word 'cache' correctly. It's not a 'cash' nor another common American pronunciation - 'cashay'.
It is correctly pronounced as one syllable sounding like 'kayche' as in okay without the 'o' and with a shhh sound at the end. Regardless, I got used to the guy. The change in narrator took me the entire book to get used to and I am still not really used to the new narrator. She does a good job overall - that's why a 3 star for her efforts instead a 1 but she pronounces some of the names very differently though and that constantly takes me out of the story.
