Efter at have levet sammen med den mere og mere psykotiske Simo i 14 år, flygter Cecilia. Hun kan stadig mærke ham i kroppen og huske det lys, der omgav ham. Men hun husker også de nætter, hvor han forbød hende at sove, og den altid låste dør til hans arbejdsværelse.
