Great narrative, great narration and great characters. Good humour and the dog just draws it all together.

Shaping up well, silly ending
i will give this series time as it was certainly shaping up okay for most of this book. But then it degenerated into almost-slapstick nonsense at the end. i would've preferred some fidelity to a police procedural where justice prevails through good solid investigation. i'm so over the trope of the obstructive/unsupportive boss who makes it difficult for the true investigators to do their work.

Oh it’s ok.
It’s so disappointing how ordinary this writing is. The best part is the narrative
