Such a great character
Hanlon is such a great character and a fabulous female character of this genre. She’s smart resourceful, cranky, flawed and loveable nonetheless. Love the lone wolf aspect and set in such a remote location. Would definitely want to listen to more books in the series.

Twists and Turns
A strong, female protagonist with a fit body and an intelligent mind. I enjoyed this book and look forward to further books in the series. An excellent crime writer and talented narrator.

Location, performance and FMC are excellent
Really enjoyed this one, my first listen of Coombs. Bonnyman does an impeccable job narrating, an obvious native to Scotland and a natural.
Nice twist on your classic crime - mostly due to the nuanced FMC who I was really rooting for.
Had my suspicions and was pleasantly surprised with the ending. Beautiful descriptions of the isles, quite transportive, now I must visit. Make sure you speed this one up to at least 1.2, as the narrators very lengthy pauses sometimes made me look at my phone as if the book had stopped!
