About this listen
The continuing story of the people of Cheshire, New Hampshire. Martin made it home after the outage (book one) but he still has to cope with a grid-down world, the resulting economic collapse, and governmental intrusion. Government agencies (FEMA, etc.,) offer aid, but demand total control in return. NH refuses to comply. For this, the authorities block aid to NH (a siege of sorts) in an attempt to force compliance. With no aid coming from outside, the people of Cheshire work to secure alternate food sources from what's available. In the process, they run afoul of urban gangs—also trying to secure food.
