Publisher's Summary
Sidney Crosby is ready to tell his story in his own words. As one of the greatest NHL players of all time, he reflects on his 2005-06 rookie season with the Pittsburgh Penguins. From a Canadian phenom dubbed “the next Gretzky” to an 18-year-old carrying the burden of a struggling franchise, he talks candidly about the intense pressure he was under, the surreal experience of lacing up alongside his childhood idol Mario Lemieux and the truth about his rivalry with Alex Ovechkin. Sidney Crosby, with the help of his family, coaches and former teammates, gives listeners an all-access pass to one of the most scrutinized and tumultuous rookie seasons in the history of professional hockey. Hosted by Pittsburgh native and Penguins fan Joe Manganiello.

any pens or hockey fan will love this though it is pretty niche. narrator was fabulous, and it was so great the way the interviews were weaved together with real audio from the time.

Truly Special Story of a Special Player
I found this surprisingly emotional and really informative. While the narrative isn't new it was great to hear straight from the people who were there how this year unfolded and came to be. Great sound production and well-paced.

Sid Th Kid unites the world of hockey
A wonderful trip down memory lane about a truely spectacular prodigy. This book had me smiling, it had tears in my eyes and it showed what had to come together to help Sid and the Penguins organisation bring the world of hockey together, to evolve a league, inspire fans world wide and to ultimately guide Sid to be one of, if not, the best hockey player of all time!
Wonderfully written! Well worth a listen!
