I've been avoiding reading this author as I had a feeling her stories were too dark for me.
it's a slow moving story that takes you through the trials of the 2 main characteristics coming to find themselves and eachother, then Ms Huss takes you on a journey into the dark, dark world of untouched evil human trafficking.
the unique plotline of writing a world in silence allows the author to describe in depth different personalities of each character which Is what tends to drag you in to the book.
it's gritty and raw but then the sub-plot is even more heartbreaking. loyalty, betrayal, trust all is so important in this novel even though in this dark world none of it exists. I'm left angry about the theme but angrier at the characters that turn...I'm was waiting for the h

I could pick this book apart and say what could have been better about it for me, but it wouldn't be enough to say that you shouldn't listen to it. It is so creatively conjured and then woven together that the sex scenes (although *chefs kiss*) did not outshine the story or narration. I'm very new to the dark romance book genre and have often found myself bored with predictable plots, even "twists." This is not one of these. There is nothing cliche about this book, and the development of relationships between characters was a testament to this IMO. Also, there wasn't a lot of soppy love shit but I definitely felt it all the same.

You have to listen or read to understand the the twist, great gritty story, with horrifying truths.
For me definitely worth 5plus.
I enjoyed the narrators, I enjoyed Her perspective and His. Theirs. I enjoyed the main characters and those close to them.
Learning to understand silence..
Triggers could be a problem for some..
I really enjoy JA’s talk at the end and learning her frame of mind when writing, it gives confirmation and again understanding..
