Great read about the history of what is arguably the world’s biggest sporting company
Whilst the book itself focusses on the history of Nike’s founding and the challenges its founders had to navigate in its early days to an admirable degree- that’s exactly what it’s downfall is as well; it neglects to focus on the company’s navigation to becoming a multi-billion dollar giant in modern times. Ostensibly, this would have made the book twice as long as it currently is, if a follow-up by Phil Knight outlining Nike’s challenges from its IPO until now would make a very appropriate part two for ‘Shoe Dog’.
Overall, definitely read this book if you’re interested in sports or entrepreneurship, but also if you simply just want to live vicariously through one man’s determination and sheer willpower to realise his lifelong passion and share this passion with the world, as Phil Knight has so admirably done with running and Nike Inc.

I couldn’t stop!
I was a bit uncertain whether to listen to this. However I decided to listen to the story. And thought it started off a little bit slow however it really got me engaged.
And absolutely amazing story and one I would highly recommend.

Great inspiring story
Amazing story I’m glad to have heard. Sound quality was sometimes not the best. Our whole family has listened to this though. Awesome.
